Canada, January, Suprise Birthday Party for Laura. It was quite the set up - with all of us dressed up and acting like historical women (Laura had to guess who we were, but as a history major she had no trouble at all)...travelling on sleighs (chased by wolves) through the prairies to different houses for a progressive dinner adventure...
Kanada, Januar, Narodeninova Oslava - prekvapenie pre Lauru. Bolo to take komplikovane - vsetky sme boli oblecene a spravali sme sa ako zeny z historie (a ona hadala ze kto sme - kedze studuje historiu tak s tym nemala velke problemy) a cestovali sme cez preriu na saniach, nahanali nas vlci (akoze) ako sme chodili od domu do domu, a v kazdom sme mali jeden chod vecere.

My grandma, me and an excellent langosh at Mileticova market. How can I describe that greasy piece of deep fried dough smothered in garlic and in this case sprinkled with cheese? You have to try it yourself. I must advertise for this particular stand and admit that they really gave us good value for our money, 15Sk for the base product with garlic + 10Sk for the cheese. The 2 langoshe were enough for our lunch and dinner, a snack for my great grandma, and some left-overs for our dog! I could not resist and not recount this exciting story amidst the alarmingly high prices of everything in Slovakia. Starka, ja a vyborny langos z Mileticky. Ako by som opisala ten mastny kus cesta natrety cesnakom a posypany syrom? Nemusim, ked toto vies po slovensky precitat urcite tuto skusenost uz mas. Musim ale robit reklamu tomuto stanku a tak podotknem ze sme naozaj dostali viac ako sme ocakavali za nas peniaz. Langos s cesnakom stal 15Sk + 10Sk za syr a naozaj sa nam tie 2 oplatili, hlavne ked sme ich mali so starkou Lubkou na obed a aj na veceru, starkej Zuzke sme dali na olovrant a este aj Brumine sa zvysilo! Nemohla som odolat a nezdelit sa s tymto pribehom, zda sa mi takym ojedinelim medzi tymi vysokymi cenami vsetkeho na Slovensku 

 
My grandpa in his studio, finishing his latest work, the bronze sculpture Nefretiti.
He says it is his best work, the work of his old age, but he also said that he thinks that about almost every new work he does when it is finished :-) Dedulo v atelieri, dokoncuje najnovsiu plastiku, bronzovu Nefretiti. Hovori, ze je to jeho najlepsie dielo, praca jeho staroby, ale ze skoro kazda nova praca sa mu zda ta najlepsia ked je hotova :-)
